Where it all begins

Developing Junior Players in our Community

About Us

Mission Statement

South West Football Academy (SWFA) has identified a gap in football coaching being delivered at a grassroots level in the community. The aim of SWFA is to provide young players with the opportunity to access high level professional skills training from qualified coaches whilst still being able to play for their own team. It will also allow our coaches to shadow the professionals so we can up skill our coaches within the community.

Our philosophy is one of inclusion, where young players can receive quality coaching in line with best practice and the FFA National Curriculum, delivered in a fun and healthy environment. With the aid of Grants and Sponsorship we hope to deliver this program to all families regardless of financial situation, football should not be means tested!

Our Training Facilities

Our training facilities are located in the rapidly growing community of Yarrabilba and nearby Kurrajong Park, Jimboomba, QLD. We train outside in a full range of weather conditions and under lights. During pre-season, we open the field for you to watch us run drills and practice games. We are proud of our facilities and what we have achieved and wish to leave a legacy for future elite players. There's not a single player that can't tell you their favourite tale of team victories gone by.

Off Season

Our players aren't just members of a team, they are members of our community. In the off-season, we work with local charities to bring sports and hope to underserved children in our home town. At each game, you get a chance to contribute to these efforts. We believe that sportsmanship doesn't stop at the edge of the field.

Mentors

Daniel Leck

Daniel Leck

Daniel Leck is an Australian Professional Footballer who plays as a right winger in the Hyundai A-League.

Daniel first developed his love for Football at Jimboomba United FC. It was apparent at an early age that Daniels talents required professional coaching. This is where his Football career needed to be relocated from the area. Daniel attended Cavendish Road High School where he partook in their Football Academy Program.

Lecks' enthusiasm for being a part of  SWFA is driven by his own journey, where he has experienced the difficulties of becoming a Professional Footballer living in our community.

His hope for this Academy is to provide young footballers with a clear pathway to become elite players.
